Exam Paper Analysis
On the morning of 25th October, at the School Lecture Hall, the 12th grade of Anqing Foreign Language School held the thematic seminar with the theme of ‘Running on the Road of College Entrance Examination--How to Correctly Analyze the Examination Papers’. The meeting was presided over by Vice Director Cao Siqing with the Senior High Department and attended by all the head teachers and students from Grade 12.
In the first place, Vice Director Cao Siqing pointed out that after the monthly exam, some students only focused on the test scores instead of analyzing the test papers. Some others could not analyze the papers at all. Therefore, the test functions could not come into play, which required students to analyze the error cause first. Generally, there are three reasons, First, students have a misunderstanding towards the viewpoints and principles in the textbook or the understanding is not broad, deep or transparent. Second, students did not grasp the problem-solving ideas and skills or could not conduct flexible application. Third, there exist some nonintellectual factors when students answer the questions. For instance, students are likely to be in a feared state of mind when facing complex essay questions. Thus, only if we find the right reasons and act appropriately to the situation mentioned above according to the strategies can we draw up measures to improve ourselves.
In the second place, in the process of examination paper analysis, students can know their advantages and disadvantages, adjust learning methods and habits, analyze whether their efforts are in direct proportion to their gains so that they can enhance their learning confidence and courage.
In the third place, Vice Director Cao Siqing stressed that senior three students should pay more attention to test paper analysis after examinations and gradually form a set of analysis methods suitable for themselves, because students who do not accumulate experience or learn lessons can hardly make progress in learning.
Overall, we expect all the students from Grade 12 will actively apply the skills learned in the meting to their study to proceed thorough analysis and make continuous improvement.
